Trip Itinerary
DAY 01: Hanoi arrival and city tour
- Welcome to Hanoi. At Noi Bai airport, your tour guide and driver will meet you. From the airport, it takes about 35 minutes to get to the heart of Hanoi. On arrival, check into your hotel.
- Your Hanoi city trip begins with the Temple of Literature, the country of Vietnam’s first university, then moves on to Ba Dinh Square, the city’s largest square. A cyclo tour that begins in Hanoi’s old quarter and ends at the Ngoc Son Temple on Hoan Kiem Lake will teach you more about the city. Overnight in Hanoi.
DAY 02: Hanoi – Ha Long Bay – Hanoi
- Today, depart the city early and travel to Ha Long Bay, which is home to approximately 3,000 rocky islets and is a UNESCO World Heritage site. Depending on the amount of traffic, the trip could take 3 to 4 hours. One of Vietnam’s breadbaskets, the Red River Delta, is passed by on the way.
- Enjoy a delicious seafood meal while sailing across the stunning, karst-filled harbor. Here, several of the islets have unique names. You can take a stroll to see grottos, go swimming, or simply unwind on the sundeck if you choose. Late in the afternoon, the boat will return to the wharf, after which you can travel to Hanoi by vehicle or coach.
DAY 03: Fly from Hanoi to Saigon (Ho Chi Minh City)
- For your trip to Saigon at noon, transfer to Noi Bai Airport. Please be aware that just a driver will be available for the transfer and that plane tickets are not included in the cost of the tour. Meet with our agent and be transferred to your hotel from Tan Son Nhat Airport.
- Afternoon visits to Reunification Palace are the beginning of your sightseeing trip in Ho Chi Minh City, formerly known as Saigon. Both a museum and a reception hall are housed in this opulent structure.
- The central post office, which is built in the colonial style, and Notre Dame Cathedral are both close by and significant municipal monuments. As you make your way to the Ben Thanh Market, take a stroll down Nguyen Hue Street to get a feel for local life and, if you so choose, to shop for locally created things.
DAY 04: Ho Chi Minh – Mekong Delta – Ho Chi Minh
- After breakfast, we will pick you up from your hotel and take you to My Tho, the home of coconut palms and family-run factories. Take a boat ride down the mighty Mekong while you observe the daily lives of the people that live there.
- Visit one of the four islands to see the sights. Take in the traditional southern Vietnamese folk music while eating delicious tropical fruits served in an orchard. Following that, you will board small boats rowed by locals and travel through narrow canals to explore nearby factories.
- Observe locals at work in coconut candy manufacturers while enjoying honey tea. In the afternoon, take a drive back to Saigon and pause to visit Vinh Trang Pagoda, a fusion of Chinese, Cambodian, and French culture. Continue your stay in Saigon.
- There will be a simple lunch with regional cuisine. There are no Indian restaurants in My Tho (Mekong Delta).
DAY 05: Cu Chi Tunnel tour in Ho Chi Minh
- Visit the 200 km long Cu Chi Tunnels, one of the few Vietnam War monuments that are still standing. Nearly 10,000 soldiers were stationed during the complex’s height, just before the Tet Offensive in 1968. One of the most amazing memories of the conflict to this day is the tunnels. In some of the tunnels, you may even try to crawl.
- After the tour, you have the afternoon free. Stay overnight in Saigon.
DAY 06: Final departure
- Morning breakfast at the hotel.
- Please be aware that you must check out of the hotel before noon. Transfer to the airport for your flight home.
