Domestic aviation is well developed in Nepal, as air travel has been a popular means of transportation between the cities. Tribhuvan International Airport is situated in Kathmandu, and from its domestic section, a number of airlines provide flights to well-known Nepalese cities, including Pokhara, Bharatpur, and Lukla. Thus, Pokhara, Nepalgunj, and Biratnagar are three of the major airports in Nepal.
More than 10 airlines operate in Nepal, and all of them are based in Kathmandu. There are three international carriers: Himalaya Airlines, Buddha Air, and Nepal Airlines. Himalaya Airlines is an airline that specializes in flying overseas, mainly to the Middle East and much of Asia. Both Buddha Air and Nepal Airlines cover both internal and international routes.
Nepal Airlines, Buddha Air, and Yeti Airlines are regarded as the top three airlines in Nepal for domestic flights since they are renowned, offer the most travel alternatives, and offer skilled services.
Shree Airlines, Tara Air, and Simrik Airlines are some of the smaller companies that fly in and out. Although these airlines are small businesses, they provide flights that are often reserved by tourists who have a particular interest in trekking or viewing the Himalayas.
